A note from Promoter Hey DW -
All good things must come to an end… at least that’s what they say. Over the past four years I have poured my passion, sweat, tears and creativity into Home Brew, it has been my baby. I have been blessed to have so many amazing collaborators, DJs, fans and supporters along the way. Returning from my American tour it was confirmed that the Supermarket would not be bringing any parties back for the 2018 season (including Home Brew) I have struggled with the news but have ultimately decided that Home Brew will officially come to an end Dec 15th.
Home Brew showed me what I, a singular queer woman, can achieve. Creating, headlining, branding and producing a monthly party beginning with only 30 people and growing it into a 400 person sweaty dance party in a short 3 years. To all my fellow LGBTQ+, POC and women... we are capable of creating greatness and now is the time we need your voices and influence on our culture. I hope this post inspires you, if you’re thinking of starting a creative endeavour: a party, a film, an album, an art project… just do it. Your community will show up, and you are strong enough to take that on. If you build it… they will come.
So with that being said there are ONLY 2 MORE HOME BREW'S LEFT: THIS FRIDAY Nov 24th for my birthday which will be FILMED and forever remembered + December 15th 'THE FINALE'. Is it good bye forever? I’m not 100% certain, maybe it will become annual or maybe I will rebirth it in LA, but for now this chapter is coming to a close. It is bittersweet goodbye, from the bottom of my heart thank you so so much to all my friends who have showed up since day one, the Home Brew regulars, DJs, Dre Ngozi Sarah BT, Cole BurnsEmily Abigail Jade Hassouné who stuck by me The Central, The Boat and Supermarket for allowing me to grow in the their space.
I’ll see you on the dance floor x x x
